The key-points of Greek foreign policy
were outlined by Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas
at a press conference held yesterday.
Droutsas together with Alternate Foreign Minister Mariliza Xenogiannakopoulou
, and Deputy Foreign Ministers Spyros Kouvelis
and Dimitris Dollis
announced the establishment of a special Committee, consisting of foreign ministry officials and academics, to formulate the new foreign policy Strategic Concept.
Droutsas also referred to the "Agenda 2014" initiative as one of the main priorities, while in regards to the FYROM "name issue
," he underlined that Greece has proved that it has the necessary political will to find a solution.
As far as the Greek-Turkish relations are concerned, Droutsas stressed that Athens seeks close cooperation with Turkey under the precondition that International Law, territorial integrity and sovereign rights are fully observed, and reiterated Greece’s support for Turkey's European course.
