Greece is undertaking an initiative for tourism cooperation with countries of the Balkans and of southeast Europe, with objective the implementation of common entrepreneurial and cross-border actions for the upgrading of the tourism product.
On Friday, Tourism Development Minister Fanni Palli-Petralia met in Thessaloniki, Macedonia, with her counterparts from neighboring countries and with representatives of tourism organizations, within the framework of the 22nd "Philoxenia" international tourism exhibition. She noted that an international conference will be held in Greece some time next year.
"We wish to bring into contact the leaderships of the ministries, the investors and all those involved with the tourism industry. To institutionalize a forum of actions which will lead us to a coordinated tourism policy," Palli-Petralia said later during a press conference.
