Two major Olympic Games-related transport projects begin operating Friday - the suburban railway and metro routes to and from Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos."
It is estimated that tens of thousands of passengers will use these public means of transportation on a daily basis, helping to reduce traffic congestion in and around the capital.

The official opening ceremony will be held at the airport terminal on Friday at 11 a.m., in the presence of Transport and Communications Minister Michalis Liapis.
